Pull the audio out of any video — right in your browser

Nothing uploads. Drop a video, pick a format, and download just the sound.

Getting the sound out of a video file

A video file is a container holding separate video and audio streams. Pulling the sound out does not require re-shooting or re-rendering anything — it means reaching into that container, taking the audio stream, and writing it to its own file. AudioFit does that inside your browser tab, so the video never gets uploaded to a conversion site.

That matters more than it sounds. Video files are large, and the usual online extractor makes you wait through an upload, a queue, and a download, with your footage sitting on someone else's server in between. Here the file is read straight from disk into memory and processed where it already is.

Which format to pick

Supported video formats are MP4, MOV, WebM and OGG.

Converting audio files: WAV to MP3, M4A to MP3 and more

AudioFit also takes plain audio files. Drop a WAV, M4A, MP3, FLAC, OGG or Opus file, pick the format you need, and download the converted copy. A WAV recording that is too big to email becomes a small MP3; an iPhone voice memo (M4A) becomes an MP3 that plays anywhere. The conversion runs on your device, so recordings of meetings, lessons or interviews never leave it.

Frequently asked questions

Will the audio lose quality?

Not if you pick M4A and the source is already AAC — that path is a direct stream copy. WAV, MP3 and FLAC each involve re-encoding.

Is my video uploaded?

No. Extraction runs on your own device, which is also why it stays fast on large files — there is no upload to sit through.

What does it cost?

Extracting one file per run, up to five minutes, is free with M4A, WAV and MP3 output. A one-time purchase adds unlimited length, batch extraction, FLAC, and trimming to a start and end point before export.
